Leederville Gardens Inc. is a not for profit organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015. The Board comprises six volunteer members who are elected to serve a term of three years. Board members have a wealth of experience in management, law, commercial business and services.

Jane WedgwoodJane comes to the Leederville Gardens Inc. Board as Chairperson from a career in finance and risk management working primarily in infrastructure businesses.
She has been responsible for a broad range of financial areas including financial forecasting and funding, insurance and major projects, all supported by engagement with key stakeholders. She has been fortunate to have worked with a diverse group of professional peers including engineers, accountants and lawyers who have extended her knowledge and skills.
Jane is someone who likes to have a plan and enjoys working with others to achieve longer-term outcomes. Jane believes that the opportunity to work with and spend time with residents will help her understand individual as well as community needs, and the best way to contribute to the Board to deliver these outcomes.
In her free time, she enjoys the arts, especially theatre.
Pina ChristiePina has lived a ‘few doors’ down from Leederville Gardens for more than 20 years and has joined the Board to add value to her local Community. Pina works as a Change Management Consultant, specialising in managing the people side of projects. She delights in helping organisations and people create the changes necessary so that they can bring their concepts into the real world. Her experience has been built on delivering a range of transformation projects and organisational change management programs; including complex information technology implementations, in a variety of contexts across Australia. Pina’s focus as a Board member is to enable a clear, achievable vision for the future of the Village so that strategic decisions meet the needs and interests of current and future residents.
Alison RobinsonAlison came out from England in 1976 and has raised 2 children and now has 5 grandchildren.
Alison worked in film and television as a Production Assistant before meeting her then husband and opening Perth’s first independent editing facility. 5 years were spent working for the owners of Clancy’s Fish Pubs before taking on roles managing Yacht Clubs for 14 years.
Alison has run and been on a number of Committees and understands the importance of good governance. She has lived at Leederville Gardens since 2017 and been Chair of the Residents’ Committee. Her vision is to make Leederville Gardens a highly desirable home for both current and future Residents.
Lisa HamiltonAs a City of Vincent resident for over 20 years, Lisa joined the Board to add value and provide a positive service to her local community. Lisa’s professional background began as a Lawyer specialising in industrial relations, followed by 17 years working in the oil and gas industry and she now works in the marine services sector. She has been on the Boards of a number of companies and other not for profits almost continuously since 2000. Lisa believes it is important to be accessible to village residents who are key stakeholders for the Board and works to maintain regular and open communication between the Board and residents.
Jill MatthewsJill Matthews grew up in Zimbabwe, lived in South Africa and came to live Perth in 2004. She has raised 2 children, and has 4 grandchildren.
Having studied textile design, Jill has owned a Textile Design School, renovated 3 homes, had a Corporate Clothing business and always been active in the arts.
Jill has lived at Leederville Gardens since 2019 and joined the Board in November 2022. Her focus is on working to make Leederville Gardens beautiful and sustainable to meet the needs of this and future generations.
Leederville Gardens is managed by Village Solutions Australia on behalf of the Board, is an independent living facility for over 55s. Village Solutions Australia specialises in the management of retirement villages across Western Australia and have successfully managed a number of high profile retirement villages in and around the Perth metropolitan area.
With a combined experience of over 50 years in the Retirement industry, the Directors of Village Solutions Australia are qualified and accredited in every facet of village management, project feasibility/construction, property management, sales and marketing. Their passion favours retirement village management and the implementation of professional and consummate management strategies.
The Operations Manager and the onsite Village Coordinators are experts in their fields. All staff are professionally skilled in the day to day management of retirement villages and possess relevant training and qualifications. Their role is to provide the day to day management of the village whilst ensuring a high level of service is provided to all residents. Village Solutions Australia selects staff for their excellent communication abilities and strong people skills.
The operation and management of Leederville Gardens are governed by and conform to the Retirement Villages Act 1992 and the Fair Trading Act (Retirement Villages Code) Regulations 2022.
